A iteration is exactly what it is, when majority of the feedback both on-chain and off has been, from my understanding - the DAO is not in a position to fund that much right now, but would support less. 🤷♂️

nouns-dao-–-activating-social-channelsIt’s simply a missed opportunity not to utilise and run our social platforms properly. I’m honestly gobsmacked at how many people have no idea about Nouns Dao at these catering gigs we do, but really, we shouldn’t be surprised. Right now, we’ve got individual proposers shilling their own achievements and a handful of community members reposting to the same circle. It’s an echo chamber shouting into itself, not a strategy to grow. And for the few who do stumble into our ecosystem, we’ve made it a maze of clients with no map, how can we expect them to stay and engage?
We’re neglecting the most powerful proliferation tools at our fingertips when growing our reach is the goal. We have many members in here doing pretty incredible things, but you’ve got to flaunt the feast to fill the table. Investing some money into telling these stories is money well spent - hire a professional team, build some decentralised infrastructure, people pitch campaigns and members vote.

Here in Aus, senior lawyers average between the 94,500 to 157,500 USD mark annually. At the 6 month you’re proposing, that’d land around 100,800 USD if annualised at the current ETH price, putting it right in the ballpark of a senior lawyer’s salary here. So my point stands, it’s an extremely well paid job to track proposals and prepare info for lawyers, all while not stepping on the toes of the other admin roles we’ve appointed. Anyhow, I’m not here for another back-and-forth. Good luck! 👍
>
>
> “A salary that rivals the qualified lawyers you organised papers for” ….. the starting rate for a Corperate Attorney in California is $250 per hour, plus emails, phone calls, texts etc are all billed separately… I’m sure Index & Satori could shed some light on the hourly rates we’re paying for the current Attorneys who worked on The Foundation & Duna, pretty sure it was close to $1k per hour, if not more …. So I’d have to disagree that the salary I am requesting is even close to rivaling any type of Attorney who would handle this type of work.
>
> Also regarding it being an overkill…. Not sure how cleaning up our books for the past 3 years to either reduce our tax liability & go after proposals who have rugged to claw back money is an overkill…. It’s been 3 years and no one has taken on the role, which is why I’m proposing it. Also I mentioned I have no problem providing information to verified DAO members.
>
> ————————
>
> @Benjamin regarding the bounty, that will be used to pay the Attorney I’m working with his rates for the time spent on each case…. There’s a lot of work involved. Take as a hypothetical example a proposal from someone named 3Seas who lives in a country outside of the US, no one knows his real name … we would then have to track wallets & get authorities involved to subpoena the exchange to release his information… then we have to research the local laws where he lives to see which laws he broke in his jurisdiction in order to send the proper legal notices… we may also have to find a local contact who can serve him the papers (all depends on the laws in his area, in the US someone has to be handed the papers and the person delivering the papers has to say ‘you’ve been served’). Some people may hire an attorney and try to fight the claims, this drags things out.
>
> All is that to say, increasing the bounty is not really a benefit to me as I’m positive we will rack up hundreds of hours in legal over the course of 6+ months. (It’s not like everything stops at the 6 month mark either as I’m sure things will be in progress / still active in some cases)
>
> Also regarding the question if there is any overlap….I would say if your going by proposal basis this would be considered ‘out of scope’ for them, but if the DAO wants to vote to change the bylaws and add this in as work for them we can do that via a proposal…. But not many people want the responsibility & social backlash that may come from being involved in serving legal notices to fellow community members or people they know outside of the DAO.

Thanks for the update. I'm not sure why, but it always feels like you are keeping the community at arm's length. Maybe it's different in the private DMs, I don’t know.
I’m just not sure why the dao hasn't been on this ride with Nouns Coffee. These are the people who funded this project, so maybe you could share some insight like: where the new location is, some photos, how much it cost, and how much has been drawn down to get to this point?
As mentioned above, this is not what the people voted for, so keeping them informed should be the minimum standard, IMO.

> The DAO approved a 2-of-3 multisig that allowed all of the funds to be moved offchain, with seemingly no visible progress since. I’m curious if those who initially voted for this proposal still feel the same way today. Both 40 and 4156 were key in pushing this through. I'd really like to hear their thoughts on the current status. If the funds were returned, would they still vote yes on the same proposal today?
>
> In his VWR, 4156 said "there’s realistically no clear path right now for the dao to own a coffee shop."

> But if the purchase hasn’t been finalized, couldn't DUNA technically take ownership? Returning the funds and reinvesting in the long-term success of the space is something I believe the entire DAO could get behind.

>
> This proposal isn't a rug, it's just scuffed. Let's restructure how this is executed so everyone can feel good about it's success moving forward.
@0x39a7...aBc0
I think a line in the sand needs to be drawn here for the dao to move forward. The lack of communication and transparency is unsatisfactory imo, especially with what has been delivered and deemed acceptable thus far. It has hindered other community members' proposals and is a huge amount of money with where we are at as a dao today.
It has been:
* 468 days since this proposal was executed
* 179 days since the last update
* 100 days since Drew participated in governance.
* 12 days since requested for an update.
Now, I know this isn't an easy or fun topic to talk about, but what precedent are we setting here? The dao voted for Prop 450, a particular cafe in Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles. That's not what we are getting. I don't agree that because this venture fell through, the proposers now have the right to select a new one of their choice without consulting the dao or 'pivot' using the funds for pop-ups at their discretion.
As a community member, I propose an on-chain discussion about where, as a dao, what direction we think this prop should take from here. Personally I feel it is more than reasonable to ask the proposers to send remaining funds back. If and when they find a new location, the DAO can vote either for or against.
That is how is experiment is designed to work.

For Nouns, it’s a big win as it taps into a prestigious, food-obsessed community, amplifying its cultural and commercial impact. Outsiders might miss this since Prahran’s status as a cornerstone of Australia’s gourmet scene isn’t globally obvious.

Sorry to disappoint Bix.
Sometimes I think you forget this isn’t just an internet experiment we’re undertaking here. It’s a real-world business with staff to support, bills to pay, and responsibilities to balance alongside proliferating this Dao. I’m the best person to know what’s right for all of the above.
Opening additional location as a Nouns Deli franchise right now would push us past our limits, risking my other businesses, venues, my reputation in the industry, and even the Dao itself. I’m not willing to gamble all that just to meet your expectations. Unfortunately, upgrades don’t come free, and this budget is an accurate figure to cover this new spot in ⌐◨-◨’s, not the entire build/ move.
You’ve been heavily against this prop since it hit candidate, ive lost count of reasons listed. I get it - you’re passionate. But that might have blinded you to the opportunity that’s actually being presented here and what it does for proliferating this Dao.
Cheers

>
> I personally feel like this is putting the DAO in a hostage situation… if we dont pay for the relocation then the new location gets named something else & Nouns Deli closes at the end of the year… which means we would have invested almost $500k into the brand of Nouns Deli for it to close within 2 years (since doors opened early 2024)

> The whole theme of the first proposal was a CC0 franchise model… so I'm disappointed to see this new location not establishing itself as the first franchise location.

@0x39a7...aBc0
Hey Jane, thanks for the questions, all very valid thb. Let me do my best to answer.
First off, I just want to get some facts straight for any new voters who may not have been around for the full Nouns Deli story.
Prop 254 ($202k) was for transforming my previous business (Stans Deli) into a Nounish space - a rebrand, a fit-out.
Prop 557 ($272.5k) was about activating the DAO’s ethos ‘outside’ of the current physical space, showcasing the core pillars (proliferation, public good, CC0). Of that, $30k repaid a personal loan I fronted to reopen the Deli after council delays killed our momentum.
So, the physical location - We are at $232k total from the DAO. The DAO didn’t buy the business - I loaned it for this experiment. If I’d pitched a buyout or shareholder deal, it’d cost way more - Prop 450 (Nouns Coffee) an example of this. Loaning it was our way of doing our part to drive the web3/ Nouns forward.
Profit Share - I didn’t pitch scenario for a few reasons. Hospitality’s not what it used to be (especially without alcohol). We sell coffee and sandwiches - margins are slim and shrinking with costs like ingredients, wages, and rent outpacing what customers are willing to pay. There’s not much left on the bone. Then worst case, if the Deli flops and liquidates, would the DAO owe its share of the debt when members didn’t contribute to the running of it? I know on paper this sounds great but it doesn’t add up for me. Higher risk for the DAO, for little return when there doesn’t need to be - proliferation was the aim of this experiment, not profit share.
Profitable - The Deli’s profitable, but we’re not rolling in cash - it swings between breakeven and green months, for reasons explained above. For us, it’s more of a passion project. Profitability would increase if it were owner-operated, but that’s not how we run it. It’s just one of several venues in our group.
Relocation - The budget I presented isn’t the full relocation cost. It’s much like our first proposal. Our group covering the rest - we’re moving into an empty space needing all commercial utilities installed and completely new kitchen. Trades can’t get full access yet, so we can only guess a final figure, but we’re estimating over $100k to be safe. This is a partnership, both sides chip in.
Future - If the DAO votes not to keep the partnership going and move with the business, we’ll finish any leftover tasks from past proposals and close Nouns Deli by year-end - unless someone steps up to take it over and carry the torch.
I hope this helps answer your questions, any more please ask.

> I have some questions here:
>
> 1. Is Nouns Deli Profitable? The 2023 proposal stated that this was an already profitable business and that Nouns DAO was simply funding its transformation into a Nounish space.
>
> 2. If Nouns Deli is profitable, why can’t it fund its own move?

> 3. If DAO funds expansion or relocation, should it receive a revenue share?
>
> 4. If DAO doesn't fund this relocation, will the store stay as it is? Or the cooperation between Nouns and Deli ends here. Since the original prop has 3 ’permanent‘ in the text.

As we head into our final week of trade for the year, it feels like the perfect time to reflect on what has been a crazy and unforgettable year since we opened our doors on 1st February, 2024. In less than twelve months, we’ve welcomed over 45,000 guests – averaging around 870 guests per week. And that’s not counting the 4,500 DoorDash orders sent out, each one leaving the kitchen proudly donning the Noggles.
Building this business was never just about serving food. From day one, we set out to bridge the gap, break down barriers, and embody the core pillars we believe define the DAO. Here’s how we’ve done so far: we’ve minted 5 Deli CC0 recipes, 6 pieces of deli art, and 2 Better Between Bread episodes, racking up nearly 2,000 mints. Collaborating with some of the biggest names in NFTs – including Chimpers, Deadfellaz, and Blockz – allowing us to introduce Nouns Deli and the DAO to other NFT communities.
Beyond the deli walls, we’ve had the privilege of catering 8 external events for brands such as Coinbase, Pudgy Oceania, CoinTree, FireBlocks, and Variety. Our partnership with UpsideDAO has also positioned us in front of some of Melbourne’s most established Web3 companies, opening doors for exciting catering opportunities and collaborations.
But one of the biggest highlights of the year has been giving back. We’re incredibly proud to have raised over $6,000 for charity and completed 5 ‘Doing Good’ activations with organisations like Ronald McDonald House, FareShare, and FoodBank. These initiatives have helped families across Melbourne who need it most and have allowed us to give back to the community in meaningful ways.
It’s been a wild, rewarding, and humbling first year at Nouns Deli. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way. With exciting plans already in motion, we can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store.

Hey Peter,
I appreciate the time you've put into this and your thoughtful feedback. There are a few things I'd like to touch on regarding your vwr.
Producing a high-quality series and book to the level currently being produced by the DAO does cost, but I think it's important to remember that it's an investment that will provide the deli with endless content and two tangible assets to share our CC0 ethos.
The 'Proliferation' efforts aren't limited to NFT conferences. While the conference we've tentatively will have a huge impact, our partnership with the catering company will allow us to cater a wide variety of events over the 12 months across 3 major capital cities here in AUS. Music festivals, sporting events, charity galas, this is about breaking out of our bubble and telling the Nouns story to completely different audiences.
Regarding the transfer of the Noun, it's going to my team—the guys who don the ⌐◨-◨ daily, repping the Nouns DAO. Personally, I've always signalled my intent to repurchase a Noun. In fact, i was bidding last week. Unfortunately at the time, I couldn't take on the financial unknown risk of the fork. And trust me, I miss my burger ⌐◨-◨.

>
> I'm sure this prop will pass anyways, hope yall keep crushing it! ⌐◨-◨
Thanks for the questions and feedback! Appreciate you taking the time to read the props.
We haven't pursued a global license yet; Nouns Deli has only been open for four months. It's too soon to think about franchising globally. We need to make sure we've got every aspect of the business nailed down before we consider expanding.
The app is still in the works and will be delivered; we have certainly not deleted it.
I’ve been mostly posting updates on X and Warp. I’ll be sure to get more active on Propdates.
This current proposal doesn’t allocate any funds directly to the deli. It's about using the deli as a vehicle to activate the DAO’s core pillars and break out of our bubble. We want to use this to tell the Nouns story and what we stand for. Despite the delays, I'd like to believe we've ticked almost all boxes on Prop 254, it was an ambitious proposal. We've accomplished a lot, and there are still things to come, executing plenty of additional things that weren't even in the original proposal.
Hope this answers your questions mate ⌐◨-◨ 🫡

Since our initial proposal over 14 months ago on March 16, 2023, Nouns Deli has emerged as a beacon of proliferation and innovation within the Nouns ecosystem. With our budget of $202,000 from [Proposal 254](https://nouns.wtf/vote/254), we've proved the power of an IRL presence for the DAO. Our commitment and dedication is hard to deny, we have transformed one of our reputable venues into something 'Nounish'— the business, a gift to the DAO to undertake this experiment together.
Nouns Deli has made headlines in major media publications such as [Broadsheet Melb](https://www.broadsheet.com.au/melbourne/food-and-drink/article/first-look-melbournes-american-sandwich-craze-and-internets-nft-obsession-meet-nouns), [NFTnow](https://nftnow.com/news/chimpers-and-nouns-deli-team-up-for-web3-burgers-down-under/), Timeout and [UrbanList](https://www.theurbanlist.com/melbourne/a-list/nouns-deli). We were recently featured in [The Age](https://www.theage.com.au/goodfood/melbourne-eating-out/this-deli-was-built-by-a-virtual-community-but-its-breakfast-muffins-are-the-real-deal-20240528-p5jh80.html), a renowned national newspaper and [Sydney Morning Herald](https://www.smh.com.au/goodfood/melbourne-eating-out/this-deli-was-built-by-a-virtual-community-but-its-breakfast-muffins-are-the-real-deal-20240528-p5jh80.html), Australia's most read newspaper. This exposure has seen our social media accounts across all platforms earned followers, likes, and plenty of additional visibility for the deli. This widespread attention has not only showcased Nouns DAO within the web3 community but introduced it to an entirely new demographic, broadening our impact and reach.
We’re not saying that it has all been smooth sailing; encountering snags with council approval resulted in lengthy delays that threw a spanner or two in the works. We didn't let these challenges stop us, as a team we're committed to sharing the Nouns core values with our community and demonstrating what crypto can truly do for society.
Off the back of our experiences to date, we are excited to present this follow-up proposal. Structured around the DAOs key values **Public Good, CC0, Proliferation, and Having Fun** — we are requesting funding to use the Nouns Deli as a base to activate these pillars within the community over the next **12 months** and further proliferate the Nouns DAO.
# Part 1 - Public Good ⌐◨-◨

**Introduction:** Interactions at the deli reveal a strong sense of connection and enthusiasm toward the DAOs value of 'public good’. Discussions with guests about initiatives like Glasses for Kids, School in Africa, and the Variety Christmas Party demonstrate the fun and creative ways crypto can have a beneficial impact on the public. We want to engage more directly in initiatives of this nature, generating Nouns Deli first-hand stories and building awareness of this positive community contribution.
**Implementation Strategy:** Here's what we're cooking up
- **Hospitality Training:** In partnership with [TipJar](https://streetsmartaustralia.org/tipjar/#:~:text=What%20is%20Tip%20Jar?,enterprises%20all%20around%20the%20country.), a local charity focused on helping disadvantaged individuals launch their careers, we will offer complementary specialist coffee training sessions led by our very own Lambie, a former competition barista and latte artist who has worked and competed for some of the biggest coffee roasters in Australia. With over a decade in the specialty coffee industry, Lambie has represented prominent brands like Aeropress, Breville, and Moccamaster to name a few. These free training sessions aim to equip participants with vital industry skills, fostering career development within the hospitality sector.

- **International Cheeseburger Day AKA Noun Burger Day:** ‘Nounifying’ International Cheeseburger Day (September 18th) into an annual Nouns Deli celebration. We plan to offer free cheeseburgers at Nouns Deli, funded by this proposed budget. This event not only serves our community but also supports [Ronald McDonald House](https://www.rmhc.org.au/). This charity operates globally in 64 countries supporting families with sick children and on a personal note, this charity holds a special place in my heart as my family has experienced firsthand the incredible support by the charity. Our aim in the near future is to have a borderless celebration, similar to those organized by PizzaDAO, where Noun Burger Day events pop up globally, compounding the effects the event creates.
**Donation Mechanism:** Each cheeseburger sold at Nouns Deli on the day is priced at $10.50USD, which we propose is to be covered by the DAO. The cost of goods for each burger is $3.50, this will be retained by Nouns Deli to cover base production expenses. The remaining $7 from each burger sold will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charity.
- **Monthly Community Engagement**: Nouns Deli will commit to a minimum of one charitable activation per month. We envisage this to be activities including our staff preparing meals for the homeless in nonprofit kitchens or the Deli catering charity events. We will partner with local charities such as [The Big Umbrella](https://thebigumbrella.org/) and [FareShare](https://www.fareshare.net.au/melbourne/) in Melbourne to broaden both Nouns Deli and the DAO's impact.
Each initiative showcases our dedication and eagerness to make a positive impact and leverage our platform to actively contribute to the community. We want to make a splash in the Melbourne hospitality scene and build upon the Noun DAOs reputation for public good in the process. This is just scratching the surface of the activations we plan to implement, and we’re excited.
**Funding Request:** We are requesting $60,000 from Nouns DAO to support our charitable initiatives, promoting the spirit of public good. This budget will cover food costs for donated meals, staff wages, administrative fees, and tasteful PR and marketing to enhance visibility.
# Part 2: CC0 - "Better Between Bread" ⌐◨-◨
[](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa5ErDR7pto&feature=youtu.be)
We are excited to present the "Better Between Bread" YouTube series, a culinary initiative that embodies the CC0 ethos. A high-quality cooking series and an accompanying cookbook of recipes straight from the Deli menu. This project will produce engaging content with a side of education, exhibiting the innovation of open-source principles.
Opening the kitchen doors and inviting the customer into the world of Nouns Deli flavor, “Better Between Bread” will feature 6 episodes, each 2-3 minutes long, delving into the ‘how to’ of Nouns Deli favorites as well as some global classic sandwiches. We are thrilled to work with Chef Joel Baylon, whose charismatic persona and culinary talent make him the ideal host of our series. Joel's innovative approach and dedication to his craft aligns perfectly with the DAOs values, and his standing in the Australian hospitality scene adds significant credibility. To ensure this content surpasses community expectations and clocks up a huge following, we have partnered with a highly skilled commercial TV and advertising team.
To accompany the video series, our team will create and publish a cookbook comprised of all recipes from the series. Each copy will feature detailed illustrations from Nouns Deli resident artist Lambie, highlighting our commitment to the arts and supporting local artists.
While excited to mint our recipes on Base, we aim to reach both web3 enthusiasts and a broader audience. This proposal will cover the first print run of 2,000 books. These copies will be available for **FREE** to foster the CC0 values of openness and sharing. Customers worldwide can order a copy online and only pay the cost of shipping. In addition to this we will produce a limited coffee table edition which will be available to mint for physical.

To maximize the series' reach, we'll use proposal funds for targeted advertising campaigns across multiple platforms. This strategy is designed to boost engagement, promote the cookbook, and spotlight the CC0 ethos, increasing visibility across the web3 community and beyond.
**Funding Request:** We are requesting $95,000 from Nouns DAO to support our "Better Between Bread" series. The budget includes $65,000 series creation, and $17,500 for the cookbooks production including hand-drawn artwork. We request an additional $12,500 to fund the targeted advertising and marketing campaign. This level of funding is essential to uphold Nouns DAO’s high standard of content.
# Part 3: Proliferation - Beyond the Brick-and-Mortar ⌐◨-◨

As Nouns Deli expands beyond the four walls of the Malvern location, we are excited to have tentatively secured exclusive catering rights for the upcoming [NFT Melbourne](https://x.com/NFT_MELBOURNE?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor) event, scheduled for August 23rd and 24th. This sizable event will offer an incredible opportunity for reconnection and engagement amongst the NFT community after a notable lull in large-scale web3 gatherings in Melbourne.
In the effort to maximize Nouns presence, we plan to sponsor this event and provide a compelling visual and culinary showcase. The event sponsorship begins with an exclusive industry night, serving complimentary food to key figures in the Australian crypto scene, elevating our brand and demonstrating the Nouns DAO's achievements. A public event the following day will allow us to extend our reach to both newcomers and the established NFT community.
In order to set ourselves up for these and future successes in event catering we have set up a strategic collaboration with a well-established events company. Operating in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, this partnership provides us with access to extensive equipment and resources, ensuring we can maintain high quality and cost effective operation. The company has committed to creating and storing custom Nouns Deli signage, assets and skins, enabling us to quickly adapt our setup for various events throughout the year. This flexible setup will allow us to cater to a wide range of events, whether related to web3 or other community gatherings.
**Funding Request:** We are requesting $62,500 from the DAO to support our presence at the NFT Melbourne event and facilitate year-round activities. This includes $5,000 for the NFT event sponsorship covering visual displays and exclusive food rights, $7,500 for operational costs including produce, staffing, and logistics, and $20,000 for production and storage of custom signage. The remaining $30,000 will fund operation of our event ‘pop up’ setup in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, reinforcing our status as Australia’s top Web3 catering brand.
# Part 4: Have Fun!
As a gesture of gratitude for representing the DAO daily at Nouns Deli, we would like to request a [Noun#603](https://nouns.wtf/noun/603), affectionately known as the "Deli-Gate," -. It would allow our staff to actively participate in governance, with at least three members contributing reasoned votes on each proposal. This not only enhances team engagement but also deepens their understanding and provides them with discussion points for interacting with guests about current DAO activities. We hope the DAO supports this initiative in recognition of our dedication.

I am requesting a modest operations salary for the next **12 months** to support my increasingly active role at Nouns Deli. This role extends beyond typical hospitality management tasks, requiring extra hours to advance the Nounish concept and ensure our community remains engaged. This compensation will enable me to dedicate the necessary time to effectively promote the DAO's mission, maintain momentum, and enhance our impact.
Our journey at Nouns Deli has not been the smoothest ride. Unexpected council pushbacks impacting crucial design elements key to proliferating the DAO increased costs and caused lengthy delays. These issues halted construction and incurred high out-of-pocket expenses to cover rent, insurance, additional planning permits and re-designs, which was compounded by missing the peak hospitality season.
Due to the impending fork #0 and the tense atmosphere at the time, Proposal 254 was written without any buffers or contingency funding for unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, these unanticipated challenges led to additional costs, which had to be covered using personal and business reserves. The team wanted to demonstrate we could meet the goals laid out in Proposal 254 before submitting any further proposals for additional funding. We are proud of Nouns Deli and the achievements we have accomplished over the past 14 months. It has been heaps of fun despite the hurdles.
**Funding Request:** We are requesting $55,000 from the DAO towards Nouns Deli's ongoing success. $30,000 will cover loans obtained to cover operational costs like rent, insurance, equipment lease, planning permits, and design updates during council delays. Additionally, we request a $25,000 salary covering the next 12 months to manage and promote the Nounish concept effectively. The final request is for Noun #603, as symbolic payment to the team for their dedication. This funding will allow us to settle debts, enhance operations, and continue contributing to the community with renewed energy.
# Conclusion ⌐◨-◨
This proposal sets the foundation for Nouns Deli to actively promote and proliferate the Nouns core pillars over the next **12 months**. It equips us with the necessary tools to spark meaningful conversations and continue facilitating onboarding pathways amongst new audiences. With these resources, we aim to significantly extend our impact and foster innovation and positive change across Australia. While these funds will benefit broader initiatives, we believe they will also indirectly enhance operations at the Deli by increasing our exposure. Despite past setbacks, our unwavering commitment to the DAO's goals remains strong. Our success with Proposal 254 showcases our capability to deliver, and we trust the DAO will support us to replicate this success in the coming year. Let’s keep cooking!

# Nouns Deli - Let's Keep Cooking ⌐◨-◨

Structured around the DAOs key values —<span style="color:red">**Public Good, CC0, Proliferation, and Having Fun**</span> — we are requesting funding to use the Nouns Deli as a base to activate these pillars within the community over the next **12 months** and further proliferate the Nouns DAO.

I am obviously a F@#K YEAH when it comes to Nouns IRL physical stores and was genuinely excited when I read this proposal title. More the merrier imo, as im very confident in the large proliferation potential with them. I'm a big fan of the concept, team, and location; that's a no-brainer for me. The potential for collaborations with Nouns Deli and even Lil Bev's seems seamless, which is another reason I wanted to support this prop.
However, I do not support the dao purchasing the business for the team (or any team). This 'experiment' is about proliferation, which imo the dao would be funding through the 'Nounish makeover and renovation' and 'Initial staffing, training, and Nouns culture integration' - which seems pricey. The idea of purchasing a business without any stake or revenue share would be dismissed in any other setting, maybe not here.? No financial commitments by proposers have been flagged in past proposals. My concern is about the precedent this sets - what comes next if the dao open this door? While I wish the team the best of luck, As someone engaged in this domain on a day-to-day basis, I felt it would be a disservice to the dao not to voice my concerns here. ✌️
*sent from voter.wtf*
Absolute no brainer for me, love the LIL BEAN. Personally I think believe across the ecosystem social media accounts are under utilised, especially when proliferation is the game we are playing. This is a smart, creative and engaging way for LIL’s to lead the way. 🫡
Voting with same reason as Prop 348 - (I like the new art, the artist, and the initiative taken. Would I have preferred a proposal that was more community-driven? Yes sure, but none was put forth so here we are. My issue is with the price tag. Last year's Nouniversary additions were introduced through a competition, a prize. Different circumstance than we have ourselves in. Personally, I find it hard to justify 88 ETH.)
Artist have every right to put whatever price tag on their art, doesn’t mean it sells. I’d be a YES at a lower number.
"I believe alien life is quite common in this universe, although intelligent life is less so. Some say it has yet to appear on planet Earth." - Stephen Hawking

I support Necfas, Mucho Love and have faith in the team and the valuable work they have already accomplished. However, I do have some concerns here. I believe the price tag is on the higher side for charitable work. Also distribution, the DAO has already voiced concerns in other proposals, highlighting the importance of making the true impact visible. While it is beneficial to hire a full-time media team, I encourage the team to hire and allocate some funds specifically for distribution to ensure the impact reaches a wider audience.
This partnership would not only introduce the Nouns to a new market but also establish a significant connection between two of the most influential web3 brands.
The massive proliferation achieved during Pudgy Penguins' previous toy launch demonstrates Luca and the teams expertise in generating exposure and reaching a wide audience. The sheer following and engagement of Pudgy’s socials is the easily the best in the space.
Welcoming Luca into our toolkit and being able to access his knowledge and networks could really benefit the Dao and our builders.
I commend "Public Good" for its achievements thus far, but I don't believe this is the best use of funds for taking the next step.
It appears to be more of paid enthusiasm rather than strategic allocation. There are no mandatory guidelines for the breweries regarding what needs to be brewed; they are encouraged to brew the IPA but not required. There is also no commitment beyond the initial run. The only commitment seems to be the production of 500 cans of 'beer' at a cost of $9 per can, while the actual production cost is no more than $1.5-2. Additionally, the beer is being sold by Narcose at a discounted price of $3.33 per can, resulting in a possible 8x markup on COGs, which is unheard of in the industry.
As someone with beverage companies, I would have preferred to see a consolidation of the number of breweries, with a greater allocation of funds to each. Sourcing brewers who specialize in certain styles, funding them for the creation of custom recipes for the 'Public Good' portfolio. Such an approach would result in a world-class CC0 beer range while still achieving expansion.
Voting yes for Proposal 307 as I believe it offers a fantastic opportunity to globally celebrate, proliferate, and highlight the Nounish culture that has been built over the last 2 years. Opening it up to a prop house round will enable communities to create their own unique activations, showcasing the talent and passion within our Dao. 🥳
I am one who believes Nounish play a key part in the success of the DAO. Most of us agree that the content produced thus far in season one is exceptional. We have a world-class media company capturing and creating our content; you just need to look through Pixel’s client portfolio to understand the calibre of the team we have here. As the distribution of content has been flagged, and I can understand these concerns, I have full faith that the team will assess and address it. Good luck!
I was on the fence about this prop. It is nothing short of incredible what the Nouns esports team has achieved and I look forward to following their future successes. In the proposal, I would have liked to have seen more detail on other potential revenue streams, sponsorship targets, and goals. I was able to find these answers in the Discord channel. Good luck team! ⌐◧-◧
